Booklook haak/crochet workshop

Anouk Beckers and Mika Perlmutter host a crochet workshop, guiding you through reading and working with the crochet diagrams published in Booklook* issue 2, a wearable fashion magazine. Together we learn how to crochet around the edges of this publication. In this way, the page expands beyond its borders into the ornamental. The workshop is beginner-friendly, but welcomes all experience levels. You are welcome to join this crochet session and co-create a lacy edition of the Booklook 2-issue!

Yarn is provided but b-y-o-y (bring your own yarn) is encouraged as well as your favourite crochet needle.

Price: 10,-/pay what you can.

\*Booklook is a project by artist Anouk Beckers - a series of wearable fashion publications. Every issue is made in collaboration with different designers, artists and writers. Booklook issue 2 is about DIY fashion and includes texts by Alessandra Varisco and Femke de Vries. Fashion designer and crochet expert Mika Perlmutter designed the crochet patterns in this issue, an invitation to not only read about the topic of DIY fashion but also doing it yourself! This publication is designed by Lejla Vala Verheus. [www.booklook.website](https://booklook.website/)\
\
Anouk Beckers (NL) experiments with modular thinking and design as a way to open up seemingly fixed structures. Her research-based work critically explores the fashion field, often through participatory and educational approaches, ranging from workshops to publications and installations.\
\
Mika Perlmutter’s (SE) practice explores the intersections of traditional textile crafts—particularly crochet—and their cultural significance for women, past and present. She combines handcraft with contemporary aesthetics in her independent practice, SKHSS (She Keeps Her Shears Sharp).

Anouk and Mika are both members of Warehouse.
